My favorite spot to fish in the Aurora area is the fox river. There's a good combination of largemouth and smallmouth bass all along the river. If you want to switch it up you can go for big channel catfish too.
If I want to go catch fish and don't mind a hour drive my next favorite spot is the fox chain. A great lake with fun ways to fish. You can catch tons of fish and its very good for catching fish on a frog.
My last favorite spot is far away but if you're willing to make the trip it is worth it. Lake newton is 4 hours away but is arguably the best lake in Illinois. There is a ton of big bass and you can find them all over the lake.
